Dive Description

Zabargad Island is located at 40 kilometres from Berenice and for many years it has been exploited as mine rich in iron. Nowadays the island is under costal guard's strict control for the difficult situation in Sudan, and every mine has been closed. Since antiquity, Zabargad was well known as one of the most precious island of Egypt. Since 1998, after a long closing to tourism, it has been opened as a marine and land park contemporary with Brothers Islands and Daedalus Reef. The natural heritage is saved and in the summer it is even possible to see a lot of turtles coming to lay down eggs.
